ROGERS PARK — The Far North Side will get a slice of the custom, fast-fired pizza scene with the addition of a Blaze Pizza restaurant at 6552 N. Sheridan Road — slated to open by the end of April, according to a spokesman for the company.

The pizza chain's website shows the location as "coming soon," and property records show a building permit was issued Jan. 13 for a $120,000 build out of the 3,287-square-foot space.

A spot near Loyola University would make for the franchise's fourth Chicago location, with the nearest sister store off the Belmont CTA Red Line station, 934 W. Belmont Ave.

There, customers line up in an assembly-line fashion as they customize personal (or shareable, depending on your level of hunger) size pies that are tossed in an open, fiery oven for 180 seconds. Customers can also choose from a selection of signature pizzas as well.

The store also offers salads, s'mores cookie pies and booze — a small variety of bottled beer and wine.

The building would help anchor the structure known as The Montserrant at Loyola Station alongside a BMO Harris Bank branch and Pita Pit location and is managed by Lakeside Management. A leasing agent for the property did not return request for comment.

In December, Blaze issued a statement saying it was adding an additional 87 locations to its current 103 across the country, and also recently signed an endorsement deal with basketball star LeBron James.

The chain also announced its plans to transition its menu entirely to "additive-free" by removing bacon, ham, pepperoni, salame with nitrates. In early 2016, it will also upgrade the quality of its olives, garlic, salad dressings and blood orange lemonade.
