NEAR WEST SIDE — A 15-year-old has been charged with an armed robbery Sunday on the Near West Side, police said.

A 35-year-old woman and two boys, ages 15 and 16, were walking in the 100 block of South Western Avenue about 9 p.m. Sunday when the teen walked up and robbed them at gunpoint before running off, Chicago Police said Wednesday.

The robber was later identified and was charged with three counts of armed robbery with a firearm, according to police, who would not release his name.

Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said on Twitter Wednesday morning that the teen has been charged with seven robberies since October.
