HYDE PARK — Packed, a new dumpling restaurant, will open on Friday on 57th Street.

Packed announced on its Twitter account on Monday that it would open for the first time at 11 a.m. Friday at 1321 E. 57th St.

The restaurant is Chef Mike Sheerin of Blackbird and Trencherman and partner Aaron DiMaria’s counter-service dumpling restaurant in the former Edwardo’s Pizza location.

The staff has not yet released the full menu, but in March when plans for the restaurant were announced, Sheerin promised dumplings with ingredients like aloe, rye and pickled cauliflower, all locally sourced whenever possible.

The restaurant’s Twitter has given some other clues about what might be unveiled on Friday, including pickled green tomatoes, Peking-style duck and other ingredients from partner the Plant farm in Bridgeport.
