NEAR WEST SIDE — Riot Fest organizers say a red Chevy Camaro emblazoned with the music festival's logos is missing from outside of Cobra Lounge on the Near West Side.

When a fest employee stopped by Cobra Lounge this week to pick up the 1990 red Chevy Camaro to get the festival mascot's transmission fixed, it was gone, organizers posted on the fest's Facebook page Tuesday. It is unclear how long the car was parked in the Cobra Lounge parking lot at 235 N. Ashland Ave.

On Wednesday, fest organizers said security footage from the parking lot shows the Camaro was stolen.

"Please keep an eye out and let us know if you see anything. I’m sure we can figure out some sort of reward if you find it. No questions asked. We just want it back," the post reads.

On Tuesday, before reviewing the security footage, organizers said they didn't know if "it was towed, or stolen, or we forgot where we parked it."

Responding to questions from fans Tuesday, the poster wrote: "To be fair, it may have been towed, we did have some tickets on it, but the transmission is screwed so it couldn't have made it far."

Promoters now say the security footage confirms that the car was stolen.

Anyone with information on the Camaro's whereabouts should email riotfestcamaro@gmail.com.

After facing pushback in Humboldt Park, the punk rock fest moved to Douglas Park in North Lawndale in September.
