UNIVERSITY VILLAGE — A UIC student was robbed by two men with a knife near Harrison Field on Friday, UIC Police said.

About 7:20 p.m. Friday, the man was walking near the Harrison Field walkway in the 500 block of South Peoria Street when he was approached by two men. One of the men asked the victim to use his cellphone and the victim handed it over, according to UIC Police.

When the man began taking too long with the victim's phone he demanded it back, police said. At that time, the second man pulled a knife on the victim and said, "How about this?" police said.

Both robbers then ran off southbound with the victim's phone, UIC Police said. The victim was not hurt.

The first robber is described as a white man weighing 175-185 pounds and wearing a green sweater with "Chicago" on it, a beanie hat with "Denver Broncos" on it, black sweatpants and a scarf over his face.

The second offender is described as a white man about 6-feet tall and weighing 175-185 pounds, wearing a black coat and a scarf on his face.

The UIC Police Department is leading the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 312-996-2830.
