CHICAGO — A man was shot while walking in Little Village on Friday, police said.

At 5:40 p.m., a 30-year-old man was walking in the 2700 block of West Cermak Road when another man walked up and fired at him, said Officer Janel Sedevic, Chicago Police spokeswoman. The victim was hit in his chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, Sedevic said.

The victim is a documented gang member, police said.

No one is in custody for this shooting.
