Daytime Armed Robberies in Lincoln Park, Lakeview Prompt Police Alert

LAKEVIEW — Police are asking Lakeview and Lincoln Park residents to be on the lookout after a string of recent armed robberies, including two this past weekend.

Three robberies have occurred in daylight hours in the North Side neighborhoods since Oct. 19, according to police. In each incident, robbers approached the victims with a handgun before taking their belongings. 

The robberies occurred on:

• Oct. 19 in the 1400 block of West Irving Park Road at around 2:20 p.m.

• Oc. 24 in the 1300 block of West Henderson Street at around 6:10 a.m.

• Oct. 24 in the 800 block of West Wrightwood Avenue at around 6:35 a.m.

Police describe the suspects in the Irving Park Road incident as black men, between 28 and 30 years of age and between 5'9 and 5'11. One of them wore a black and red hooded sweatshirt, while the other wore a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

In the Henderson Street incident, police describe the suspects as three black men, between 25 and 30 years of age, approximately 6 feet tall, all wearing baseball caps.

There was two robbers in the Wrightwood Avenue incident. Police describe the first as a black man, between 20 and 25 years of age, between 6 feet tall and 6'2, between 150 and 170 lbs, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. 

The second robber was a black man, between 20 and 25 years of age, 5'7, between 140 - 150 lbs, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans, police said.
