McNally's in Morgan Park has stayed true to form in its jabbing at the Chicago Cubs. The latest sign makes it abundantly clear that the South Side bar is no fan of the North Siders.

MORGAN PARK — If nothing else, McNally's in Morgan Park is consistent.

The bar at 11136 S. Western Ave. has a long history of taking jabs at the Chicago Cubs, and its opposition has taken on new life since the North Side ball club entered the playoffs.

The latest marquee reads, "Cubs Bandwagon Doesn't Stop Here." This is followed by the south-facing sign that simply states, "Go Sox & Whoever Plays The Cubs," a sentiment with roots in the lyrics to "South Side Irish."

McNally's in Morgan Park has a long history of taunting fans of the Chicago Cubs. The bar at 11136 S. Western Ave. has stayed true to form during the North Side ball club's playoff run.

The neighborhood bar made headlines earlier this month when it offered free beer every time the St. Louis Cardinals hit a home run against the Cubs in the National League Division Series.

The Cubs went on to win the series, and McNally's later clarified via its Facebook page that the rivalry was all in good fun and the suds were being bought by an enthusiastic Cards fan.

The Cubs will face the New York Mets at 7:07 p.m. Tuesday in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series at Wrigley Field. The North Siders have lost the first two games of the series.
