LAKEVIEW — Hopefully it won't be the last home run in Lakeview this year, but it will be the first North Side location for Home Run Inn.
Home Run Inn is opening its eighth pizzeria at 3215 N. Sheffield Ave. at 3 p.m. Oct. 15, the company announced Monday.
The first 100 guests will get a coupon for one free large pizza, and a percentage of proceeds from the opening weekend will benefit Lakeview Pantry.
Construction began in March, but building delays pushed back the summer opening. The Oct. 15 opening puts Home Run Inn's opening day alongside those of Stan's Donuts and Corridor Brewery and Provisions.

The restaurant will replace the former Leona's Restaurant, which was renamed Lina's after the owner sold the chain but retained the Sheffield Avenue restaurant in November 2013. Lina's then closed last year.
Home Run Inn prides itself on its traditional, all-natural pizzas and a long history as a family-owned business. Its top pizzas include the 1947 (sausage, pepperoni and smoked bacon) and the turkey diablo (turkey sausage, giardiniera and roasted red peppers).
The 5,500-square-foot building features a natural brick interior and a U-shaped bar with 16 beers on tap. Wine and infused cocktails will round out the drink menu.
