CHICAGO — This is it, people. This is the last weekend of summer. Make it count.
1. Welcome Autumn with Norwood Park Fall Fest: A beer garden and music stage will transform Centennial Park at 6088 N. Northwest Hwy. in Norwood Park for the fourth-annual festival sponsored by the Norwood Park Chamber of Commerce. Noon to 10 p.m. Saturday at 6088 N. Northwest Hwy.
2. Enjoy the Best Tacos Chicago Has to Offer: The third Lakeview Taco Fest is a great way to say farewell to summer while enjoying Mexican wrestling and 14 of the best taco joints (including reigning champion Taco Joint) in the Windy City. Many of the restaurants are Lakeview-centric, and the fest benefits the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce. 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Southport Avenue from Addison to Roscoe. $8 suggested donation.
3. Find one-of-a-kind-treasures at the Renegade Craft Fair: More than 350 indie craft makers from around the country will offer up two days of shopping (check out the vendor lineup here) plus there will be music by DJs from CHIRP Radio and Reckless Records, food from Taco in a Bag, Dia Los Tamales and more. Admission to the fair is free and Uber is offering one free ride for new users (up to $20), with promo code "RCF2015." Renegade Craft Fair runs from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on Division Street between Damen and Paulina.
4. Watch The Cubs Play Cornhole: We Midwesterners find nothing more amusing than an afternoon toss bean bags at holes in wood planks. The greatest lawn game of all time will play out at Wrigley Field during the first Chicago Cornhole Challenge on Saturday. Cubs pitcher Jason Motte is raising money for his foundation, which provides care and comfort for those affected by cancer, and he'll be playing along with Cubs and St. Louis Cardinal players after their Saturday game. While team registration is sold out, spectator tickets are still available, and food and drinks are included. Gates open at 5 p.m. Wrigley Field, 1060 W. Addison St., $150.
5. Get Your Block Party On Before It's Too Late: There are two block parties on Saturday in Lincoln Park and Old Town that promise live music, kid-friendly activities, tasty grub and beer. One of them bills itself as the "world's smallest block party." It'll be held in St. Teresa's parking lot at the corner of Armitage and Seminary avenues from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Also on Saturday is Old Town Triangle Associaton's fall festival, which will kick off at 5 p.m. at the Old Town Triangle Center, 1763 North Park Ave., and go until 10 p.m. This one costs $20 for both members and non-members of the association.
