Kings Bowl to Open in Lincoln Park's New City Complex Nov. 2

By Mina Bloom | September 8, 2015 12:59pm

LINCOLN PARK — An entertainment venue featuring 16 bowling lanes, a full-service restaurant, a game lounge and an outdoor patio is slated to open in the massive New City complex in early November, it was announced Tuesday morning.

The first 250 people to visit Kings Bowl, 1500 N. Clybourn Ave., on Nov. 2 will win two free bowling games every month for a year.

Food-wise, patrons can expect dishes like chicken wings and pan-seared ginger soy glazed salmon at the 24,000-square-foot venue. There will also be a separate coal-fired pizza joint thanks to a partnership with Boston-based restaurant Max & Leo's.

In addition to ten-pin bowling, visitors can play games like billiards, air hockey, foosball and shuffleboard, and sports fans can watch games on 60-inch TVs.

At night, Kings Lincoln Park will transform into an "adult playground" for visitors over 21 with a late-night DJ and dance floor. The venue will offer full-service bars, where people can order craft cocktails and craft beers, among other beverages.

Kings Bowl is just one of many forthcoming new tenants at New City, a $265 million mega-complex which spans 8½ acres at the North Avenue, Clybourn Avenue and Halsted Street intersection. The complex will also house a 14-screen movie theater, the largest Mariano's grocery store in the city, 40,000 square feet of restaurant space and more.

Before opening, the development, which offers more than 1 million square feet of building space, had been eight years in the making.

Kings currently has a location in Rosemont's MB Financial Park. The Lincoln Park location will be Kings' eighth venue in the country.

Kings Lincoln Park will be open Sunday - Thursday from 11 a.m. - midnight; Fridays and Saturdays from 11-2 a.m. The kitchen will be open daily from 11 a.m. until close.
