GREEKTOWN — Greektown's best restaurants will come together to celebrate their Hellenic pride at Taste of Greektown this weekend.

The 26th annual fest will be staged at the intersection of Halsted and Van Buren in the heart of Greektown from noon-11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The food and wine from neighborhood eateries is the main attraction, but the fest also features Greek music, entertertainment and games for kids and families.

Participating restaurants include: Artopolis, a European-style bakery and café; Athena Greek Restaurant, in business since 1997; Greek Islands, founded by a group of Greek immigrants in 1971; 24-hour Mr. Greek Gyros; Mediterranean 9 Muses Bar & Grill; Parthenon, in business since 1968; Roditys Restaurant, open for more than four decades; Santorini, offering Greek-style seafood; Spectrum Bar & Grill, opened more than 25 years ago by immigrants from Cyprus; and neighborhood mainstay Zeus Restaurant.

The Ormi Orchestra, playing modern and traditional music from all parts of Greece, and George Dimas and Hellas 2000, known for a career that spanned Greece, the United States and Canada, will take the stage throughout the weekend. The Orpheus Dance Troupe and Jesse White Tumblers are also slated to perform. A schedule is available online.

During the fest, the National Hellenic Museum, 333 S. Halsted St., will offer half-price admission, crafts, games and giveaways.
