5 Things To Do Outside Today: Iguanas, Turtles and 'Jumanji' in the Park

CHICAGO — Tomorrow is Friday! Get the weekend started early by enjoying this rare cool summer night.

Watch "Jumanji," Picnic in Wicker Park: A 6-flick summer tribute to Robin Williams continues with "Jumanji."  The Chop Shop is offering a $14 “Picnic for 2” (meat, cheeses pickles, artichoke, baguette and giardiniera) as well as shareable sandwich platters for $20 (8 mini sandwiches) along with a 10-percent discount if you call ahead at (773) 537-4440. Movie starts at dusk, around 8 p.m., but come earlier to get a good spot. 1425 N. Damen Ave. in Wicker Park's softball field. Free.

Toddlers, Tunes, & Turtles:  Take your little ones to an outdoor nature program featuring a variety of live animals like frogs, snakes, birds, and turtles. In addition to the animals, accompanied by expert handlers, the event also features musicians who will lead a singalong and a play area where children can build forts out of sticks, touch pine cones or smell cinnamon bark.  From 5:30 to 7 p.m., Smith Park, 2526 W. Grand Ave. in West Town. Free.

"Paddington" in Munro Park: Clear skies are predicted to be the backdrop tonight as "Paddington" will be shown at dusk. The 95-minute children's movie tells the story of a young Peruvian bear who travels to London. The movie is being shown courtesy of the West Beverly Civic Association and 19th Ward Youth Foundation. Movie starts at dusk. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and bug spray. 2617 W. 105th St. in Beverly. Free.

Come as You Art in Hyde Park: How's that art coming along? Artists working at the Hyde Park Art Center will give their monthly take on how they think their projects are progressing. This month's artists are Widad AlBassam, Antonio Martinez, Michelle Nordmeyer and Carolyn Pereira moderated by artist Lisa Jenschke-Stephens. From 6-8 p.m., Hyde Park Art Center, 5020 S. Cornell Ave. Free.

Get Edgy With Exotic Animals: Ever dreamt of slurping a frozen custard treat in one hand, and high-fiving an iguana with the other? Then pay close attention because this one’s for you. Part of the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce’s “Family Nights” schedule, Animalquest: Exotic Animals will be on site showing off awesome exotic animals. As always, the first 75 guests get free frozen custard from Edgewater’s own Lickity Split, so don’t be late! Broadway Armory Parking Lot, 5917 North Broadway, 6:30 p.m., Free.
