CHICAGO — It's a gorgeous Wednesday - get outside!

1. Kick Off Your Sunday Shoes: Catch the ‘80s classic “Footloose” or the 2014 remake of “Annie” under the stars tonight as part of the Chicago Park District’s Movies in the Parks series. "Footloose" starts at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at Merrimac Park, 6343 W. Irving Park Road, and “Annie” at 8 p.m. at Portage Park, 4100 N. Long Ave., Free.

2. Support Local History With A Sidewalk Sale: Let’s get historical, historical! Come on let your wallet talk. OK, we admit that was corny but the Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society’s sidewalk sale isn’t. Stop by their office today to show off your Far North pride by picking up a history book, shirt, photos and more. RPWRHS Office, 4-7 p.m., 1447 W. Morse Ave.

3. Visit a Farmers Market: Buy fresh produce at the Growing Home Farm Stand on the South Side. Into fresh food? It doesn't get better than this: there will be vegetables that were harvested this morning for sale. 5814 S. Wood Street, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

4. Slow Roll Chicago: The Slow Roll Chicago series consists of 12 community bicycle rides touring the neighborhood art and architecture. Tonight, it cruises through Englewood. Hamilton Park, 513 W. 72nd St, 5-6 p.m. photography workshop, 6-6:30 p.m. meet and greet, 6:30-8:30 p.m. ride.

5. Admire Some Greenery: Head to the Lincoln Park Conservatory to admire all of the fragrant, tropical flowers and plants. According to its website, August is the peak time to view the conservatory’s outdoor gardens. Lincoln Park Conservatory, 2391 N. Stockton Dr., is open until 5 p.m. Wednesdays.
