HYDE PARK — The Hyde Park Historical Society wants to hear stories about churches, temples and synagogues.

The historical society is collecting the oral history of Hyde Park’s houses of worship from 2-4 p.m. Aug. 16 at Montgomery Place, 5550 S. Shore Drive.

Historians are particularly interested in the part local religious groups played in the civil rights movement, the many interfaith ceremonies and how individual institutions have changed over the years.

People are encouraged to bring photos and artifacts to share.

There will be a reception following the program.

Space is limited and to reserve a spot, call Lala Rogers at 773-401-0474 or email hporalhistory@gmail.com.
