
1. Mary, Mary How Does Your Garden Grow: The self-guided garden walk will feature 15 gardens and natural points of interest throughout Edgebrook, Old Edgebrook, North Edgebrook and Wildwood. It will take place from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. July 19, rain or shine, and $10 tickets are available at 6438 N. Kinzua Ave.
2. Go global with Clark Street World Music Festival: Celebrate 10 years of dancing to music around the world with a “World Music Street Party,” part of the Clark Street World Music Festival. Check out performers from Colombia, Uganda, Mexico City and more while enjoying a smattering of international food and craft beer selections from near and far away. Saturday, July 18 from 1-11 p.m. and Sunday, July 19 from 1-10 p.m. On Clark Street between Morse and Estes avenues in Rogers Park. $5 per person ($10 per family) suggested donation.
3. Beat the Heat: Bike 45 will take a 15-mile bicycle tour of Far Northwest Side ice cream shops starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at City News Cafe, 4018 N. Cicero Ave., before heading to Josi's Frozen Yogurt Cafe, 4032 N. Milwaukee Ave., and the Chocolate Shoppe, 5337 W. Devon Ave. Bicyclists of all ages are welcome to ride, but children younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and adult riders may accompany no more than three children per adult rider.
4. Head to Buttercup Park for an interactive performance: For those who like being a part of the performance, The Queen Luxuria is putting on an interactive performance Saturday afternoon at Buttercup Park in Uptown, which will be the first of a trilogy of shows. It revolves around art objects and the value we give them. Buttercup Park, 4901 N. Sheridan Rd., the show is from 2 - 4 p.m., Free.

5. Check out newly opened and much-anticipated wine bar Ampersand: Lincoln Square residents have eagerly awaited the "rustic comfort food" and wide wine selection promised at Ampersand, 4845 N. Damen Ave. Hot tip: They're offering a lighter "afternoon tea" service 3-6 p.m., a perfect respite from the heat.
