CHICAGO — It's going to be hot, humid, rainy and it might even hail this weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Chicagoans can expect very warm and humid conditions with temperatures reaching as high as 90 degrees. The combination will likely create a heat index between 100-105 degrees, which prompted the National Weather Service to issue a hazardous weather warning.

There's a slight chance of rain or thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Friday. The hot and humid conditions will continue Saturday when afternoon temps could be in the low or mid 90s. That could push the heat index between 105-110 degrees Saturday, the weather service said.

There are chances of thunderstorms Saturday night and Sunday that may bring damaging winds, large hail and enough rainfall to cause some flooding. While there is about a 40 percent chance of showers Saturday night, that percentage jumps up to 60 Sunday.

The National Weather Service warns everyone to slow down and reduce outdoor activity, drink plenty of water, dress for summer, spend time in air conditioning and not to get too much sun during the hot muggy weekend.

The weekend follows a rainy couple months. But according to weather historians, it could always be worse.
