Ten People Wounded Across City Since Tuesday Morning

CHICAGO — Ten people have been wounded in shootings across the city since Tuesday morning, police said.

The most violent incident occurred in Brighton Park around 7:40 p.m. and left three men hospitalized. The men were in an alley in the 2800 block of West 38th Street when someone opened fire, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

A 17-year-old was shot in his arm and an 18-year-old was shot in his side. They were both taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Estrada said.

A 19-year-old man was shot in both legs and was also in good condition at Stroger, Estrada said.

Most recently, a 19-year-old man was shot in Englewood. Around 9:50 p.m., the man was in the 1700 block of West 61st Street when he was shot in his leg. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition, Estrada said.

Minutes before 8 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in Hyde Park.

Around 6:45 p.m., a 17-year-old was left in critical condition after being shot in Woodlawn.

Around 6:15 p.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in his leg and hand when he was approached by a man who opened fired in the 7200 block of South Champlain Avenue, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Christ Hospital in good condition, Estrada said.

Around 5:02 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot in Rogers Park.

Two people were shot in separate shootings in Roseland Tuesday afternoon. Around 3:30 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in his buttocks in the first block of East 102nd Place when a man got out of a van and opened fire before returning to the van and driving away, Estrada said.

The man was taken to Christ in good condition, Estrada said.

Around 10:45 a.m., a 21-year-old was shot in his back while sitting on a porch in the 11400 block of South Prairie Avenue. He was taken to Christ Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Estrada said.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings.
