NEAR WEST SIDE — Some of Latin music's hottest alternative acts are slated to play a first-ever three-day music fest at Addams/Medill Park this weekend.

Presented by the team behind Riot Fest, Ruido Fest will welcome Latin post-punk, electronic, hip-hop, rock, psychedelia, tropicalia, reggae and punk acts from all over the world to the park, 1301 W. 14th St., just north of Pilsen on the Near West Side.

The fest will take over Addams/Medill Park from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Three-day general admission passes are still on sale for $155. Single day general admission passes are still on sale for $55 Friday and Saturday and $65 Sunday.

The fest line-up, which includes more than 50 acts, includes Café Tacvba, Zoé, Molotov, Kinky, Compass (IMS + Toy Selectah), Dënver, Nortec Collective Feat, Hiperboreal, Ozomatli and Enjambre and Estelares from Argentina.

Ruido Fest — which means Noise Fest in English — is organized by event production companies Riot Fest Presents, Metronome and Star Events and radio program Rock Sin Anestesia.

Tickets first went on sale in April.

Eduardo Calvillo, Rock Sin Anestesia founder, said Chicago was the perfect place to host the Latin alt fest.

"The Latin population in this city is a diverse, growing force that has made Chicago one of the top destinations for world music," he said. "We could not think of a better place to unveil this truly unique event."
