3 Killed, 24 Wounded in Weekend Shootings

CHICAGO — Since Friday morning, three people have been killed, and at least 24 people wounded in shootings, police said.

Since Sunday morning, a 21-year-old man has been killed in a Roseland shooting, and four people have been shot across the city, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

Around 9:20 p.m., a 17-year-old was shot in Chatham.

Fifteen minutes earlier, a 40-year-old man was shot in Austin. Around 9:05 p.m., the man was walking in the 5200 block of West Quincy Street when he was shot in his leg. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, Pacheco said.

A 37-year-old man was shot in his side in Bronzeville about an hour earlier. Around 7:52 p.m., the man was walking in the 3600 block of South Rhodes Avenue when someone opened fire from a black SUV before speeding away, Pacheco said.

He was taken to Northwestern Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Pacheco said.

Around 5:45 p.m., a 19-year-old woman was shot in Uptown.

On Sunday afternoon, a man was shot in his leg in Rogers Park.

Between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, a 21-year-old man was killed in South Shore, and 10 people were wounded in shootings, including a 23-year-old man wounded while driving in Lakeview by a man on riding a motorcycle, police said.

From Friday morning to Saturday afternoon, a 32-year-old man was killed in Back of the Yards, and 10 people were wounded in shootings, including two teens wounded near St. Sabina Church a few hours before the Catholic church's peace walk.

In addition to the shootings, two people were stabbed overnight, one fatally. Around 3:03 a.m. Monday., a 25-year-old man was stabbed to death in Logan Square. And around 11 p.m., a 24-year-old man was stabbed in Lakeview.
