PILSEN — A guided tour in Pilsen this weekend will give visitors a glimpse into the neighborhood's rapidly expanding coffee scene.

The Pilsen Coffee Tour will kick off at 1 p.m. Saturday at Nitecap Coffee Bar, 1738 W. 18th St., before traveling to three other independent coffee shops and bakeries in the area.

Tickets, priced at $20, are still on sale. Participants will enjoy free tasting plates and learn about Pilsen's culture, architecture and art during the tour, Nitecap Coffee Bar owner Aaron Marsh said.

Other stops on the two-mile walking tour include La Catrina Cafe, Panaderia Nuevo Leon and Efebina's Cafe.

In addition to the four spots on the tour, Pilsen is also home to Cafe Jumping Bean, Bow Truss Coffee and Kristoffer's Cafe & Bakery.

Dollop Coffee Co. and Hoosier Mama Pie Co. also plan to open a coffee shop and production bakery in the neighborhood.
