WEST LOOP — A Lincoln Park bakery that specializes in meatloaf cupcakes plans to open a second location in the West Loop this summer.

The Meatloaf Bakery will open a second shop in the Chicago French Market, 131 N. Clinton St., later this month. The bakery will join nearly 30 other specialty vendors at the market.

The Meatloaf Bakery's easy-to-eat creations include:

• The Mother Loaf, a beef, pork and veal combination with onions, ketchup, a blend of seasonings and herbs topped with mashed Yukon potatoes.

• The Herby Turkey Loaf, featuring lean ground turkey with a blend of spices, garlic, red pepper, fresh herbs, aged Parmesan cheese topped with stuffing and cranberry sauce.

• The Loaf-A-Roma, featuring a beef and Italian sausage meatloaf with mozzarella cheese, sun dried tomatoes and fresh basil, then topped with angel hair pasta and marinara sauce.

The meatloafs are available in bite-size "Loafies," priced at $2, and individual-serving cupcakes, priced at $7.95-$9.95. Full loafs and layer cakes are also available for order.

A full menu, which also includes vegetarian options, is available online.

Owner Cynthia Kallile said opening the French Market location was "the perfect next step" for the company.

“Offering our customers convenient and delicious food is second nature to The Meatloaf Bakery, so opening our second location in the French Market is the perfect next step for us,” Kallile said.

The Lincoln Park restaurant, 2464 N. Clark St., opened in 2008.

In addition to the shop's Lincoln Park location, the company also operates Meatloaf By Mail and the Meatloaf-A-Go-Go food truck.

The Chicago French Market, located beside the Ogilvie Transportation Center, is open from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays and from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturdays. The market is closed Sundays.
