CHICAGO — A 29-year-old man was hospitalized after a shooting on the Near West Side early Monday, police said.

Around 3:37 a.m., the man was inside a van in the 2200 block of West Adams Street when a man opened fire from another car, striking him twice in his buttocks, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The 29-year-old was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized. It is unclear if the man was the driver or a passenger in the car, Estrada said.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
