CHICAGO — A South Shore man has been charged in a shooting last month that left one teenager dead and another wounded, police said.

Arieus Fitch, 20, of the 6900 block of South Paxton Avenue, was charged with first-degree murder, police said Sunday.

On May 24 at 8:20 p.m.,  a 14-year-old boy and 15-year-old boy were standing outside in the 4400 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when shots were fired from a light-colored car, police said.

The 15-year-old boy was shot in his back and found unresponsive in the alley. He was pronounced dead on the scene, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

He was identified as Raheem Dameron, of the 5600 block of South Justine Street. Dameron was pronounced dead at 8:56 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The 14-year-old boy was shot in his foot and taken to Comer Children's Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Cooper said.

Fitch was scheduled to appear in bond court Sunday.

No further information was available.
