HYDE PARK — The 57th Street Art Fair is letting the people pick the best art at this year’s fair.

The art fair, which runs 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday on 57th Street between Kenwood and Woodlawn avenues, is introducing a People’s Choice Award for its 68th year.

There are over 200 artists at this year’s art fair, so the choice could be difficult.

Organizers are asking for $1 for each vote.

Among the featured artists this year are newcomers Santiago Gutierrez, who makes ceramics inspired by Nicaragua, and Michael Imes, who has made functional clay sculptures for 40 years. Gutierrez and Imes both won Newcomer Awards, the first of 10 awards to be announced.

The art fair will also have bookbinding classes and dance workshops for kids. On Saturday, Jim Bachor will sign limited editions of his poster for this year’s fair. And calligraphers, ceramicists, printmakers and other artists will give demonstrations of their techniques.

A full schedule and map of artist booths is available online at the art fair’s website.

The fair is free and open to the public.
