WEST LOOP — To celebrate the chain's opening in the West Loop, Nando's Peri-Peri is giving three determined fans free food for a year.

The contest kicked off Thursday and a first winner has been chosen, according to the company's Twitter account. But there are still two more chances for lucky West Loopers to win.

On Friday and Saturday, the fast casual chain will hide a golden cockerel (aka rooster) somewhere in the city. At 10 a.m. each day, the company will tweet out clues on Twitter, and the first person to find the cockrel is deemed winner.

Thursday's hint read: "We’ve hidden the first golden cockerel near this landmark. We’re just 'bean' difficult." The clue was posted with a photo of Cloud Gate, also known as the Bean, in Millennium Park.

Nando's Peri-Peri, a popular international restaurant chain specializing in South African/Portugese-style spicy peri-peri chicken, opened this month in the West Loop.

The winner of the contest gets one free meal each day for one year, according to the contest rules. Contest participants must be 18 years old and live within 75 miles of Chicago's city center.
