NORTH CENTER — Police are investigating after a reported burglary at Lane Technical High School Saturday night, police said.

Police received a call for a burglary around 10 p.m. in the 2500 block of West Addison Street Saturday night, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The burglars broke a window in the front door and "unknown items" were taken at the time, Sedevic said. There was damage to property inside the main office, she added.

Lane Tech recently was named the sixth best public high school in Illinois, according to U.S. News and World Report. The school also debuted a brand-new high-tech Innovation and Creation Lab last month.

As of 1 p.m. Sunday, no one was in custody, Sedevic said.
