4-Year-Old Boy and Firefighters Injured in Irving Park Fire, Officials Say

CHICAGO — A four-year-old boy and two fire fighters were wounded in a fire early Sunday morning in Irving Park, officials said.

Around 2:40 a.m., the blaze broke out in the 4300 block of North Drake Avenue, authorities said.

The boy suffered smoke inhalation and burns to 75 percent of his body and taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital, fire officials said.

Two firemen were injured while fighting the blaze and were taken to Swedish Covenant for minor injuries, officials said.
