GRAND CROSSING — A 24-year-old man is dead after being shot in Grand Crossing Friday evening, police said.

Kelvin L. Davis was standing on the sidewalk on the 1300 block of East 75th Street around 5:30 p.m. when he was shot in the neck and chest by another man, said Office Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The shooter fled in a grey four-door Pontiac, she said. Davis was later pronounced dead at Jackson Park Hospital.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim Saturday, stating that he was shot on the 7500 block of South Dorchester Avenue, where he also lived.

The victim was a documented gang member, according to police.
