PILSEN — A new street fest that brings together food trucks, live music and Revolution Brewery beer is coming to Pilsen in June.

The Pilsen Food Truck Social, staged on 18th Street between Throop Street and Racine Avenue, will bring more than 25 food trucks to the neighborhood from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. June 6-7. While the food truck lineup hasn't been finalized yet, organizers expect tamales, Kobe beef, mac n' cheese and cupcakes to be included in the mobile treat offerings.

A $20 sampler ticket will allow festival goers to try sample-sized portions from any food truck on site, and also sample Revolution beer and other sponsored wine or spirits. Full-sized food and beverages will also be available for individual cash purchase.

The food truck social will include live music on 18th Street, and Thalia Hall's team is working now to book a "cutting edge" lineup, according to a press release. The historic venue is also expected to have additional, ticketed shows on its indoor stage that weekend.

Revolution Brewing, the fest's beer sponsor, is also expected to produce a new ale to debut at the Pilsen Food Truck Social, and artisans, retailers and restaurants that call Pilsen home will set up shop on the block.

Participants will be asked to give an optional $5 donation upon entering the fest. A percentage of the proceeds from the food truck social will benefit the Illinois Food Truck Owners Association and the St. Procopius Catholic Church soup kitchen and food bank.

Food vendors interested in participating in the Pilsen Food Truck Social can request an application by emailing optimumeventschicago@gmail.com. The deadline to apply as a food vendor is May 8. Retail and nonprofit vendor applications are also available.

The Pilsen Food Truck Festival is sponsored by Optimum Events, Empty Bottle Presents, Thalia Hall and Revolution Brewery.
