CHICAGO — A 33-year-old man was wounded after being shot on the Near West Side Friday night, police said.

Around 9:35 p.m., the man was stopped at a red light in the 1000 block of West Congress Parkway when shots were fired from a light-colored vehicle, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

The man drove away but crashed his vehicle in the 500 block of West Van Buren Street, Sedevic said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition stabilized, Sedevic said.

No one is in custody, and police are investigating.
