SOUTH LAWNDALE — A victorious Mayor Emanuel cracked himself up Wednesday while dismissing talk of a possible cabinet post under Hillary Clinton.

Warning reporters at a day-after-election news conference that he was still groggy from his victory party the night before — which found him ending up at the Matchbox — Emanuel rose to a question about reports Hillary Clinton might possibly call him for a cabinet post if she were elected president next year.

"I just got hired for this job, the job I want," an incredulous Emanuel said.

Emanuel repeated remarks from his victory speech the night before that being mayor of Chicago "is the greatest job I've ever had."

"I have no interest in another job — zero, zilch, none, nothing, alright?" Emanuel added. "I just got hired to this job, and it's my responsibility to finish this job for the people of the City of Chicago who hired me."

Emanuel said he hadn't even talked with Hillary Clinton following his victory, although he had talked with her husband, President Bill Clinton, who had called to congratulate him.

He also said he had a chat with President Barack Obama.

Asked by one reporter if he had asked about the Obama Presidential Library, Emanuel responded, "What do you think? ... Do you think I ever miss a moment?"

Emanuel actually depicted their talk as "a very good conversation as friends."

On the library, he told reporters, "If I hear, you're gonna hear, trust me."
