WEST LOOP — Want to dance like J.T. or learn the moves to Beyonce's "7/11?"
To celebrate the grand opening of a nationally recognized dance studio, Chicago's Millennium Dance Complex will welcome three celebrity choreographers to teach a series of classes March 21-22.
Owners of the L.A.-based Millennium Dance Complex have leased 7,790 square feet in the building at 1000 W. Washington Blvd. in the West Loop. The studio, a franchise location, will open next weekend.
To celebrate opening weekend, MDC Chicago will host classes led by celebrity dancers Marty Kudelka, Justin Timberlake's longtime choreographer; Matt Steffania, hip-hop choreographer and instructor who has worked with Chris Brown; and Michelle “Jersey” Maniscalco, who has appeared on VH1’s “Hit the Floor" and who has danced on tour for Beyonce.
Interested in signing up? Participants can view the full schedule and sign up online. Individual classes start at $30 and packages are available.
MDC Chicago will offer classes ranging from ballet to hip-hop for a variety of ages and skill levels, said Nicole Spagnolo, owner of the West Loop dance studio.
“I like my studios to feel like home, and believe we’ve created a place for dancers of all levels and ages to learn from the very best in an energetic, inspiring atmosphere," she said.
Spagnolo opened Lincoln Park studio Collective Dance in 2009.
Millennium Dance Complex's North Hollywood location is home to celebrity clientele including Britney Spears, Usher, Janet Jackson, Prince, Beyoncé, Missy Elliott and Jennifer Lopez, among others.
Starting next weekend, Millennium Dance Complex Chicago will be open daily from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
