CHICAGO — In case you haven't watched this week's "Modern Family" episode yet, this article is one huge Chicago-centric spoiler.
Garrett Popcorn makes a cameo.
In the episode shot entirely on Apple computers, iPhones and iPads, one of the characters, Claire Dunphy, uses her computer to video chat with various family members in the 20 minutes before boarding her flight at O'Hare International Airport.
"Hey Claire, did you get me Garrett's cheese and caramel corn yet?" her brother-in-law Cam asks her a few minutes into the episode.

That's a safe way to refer to the 65-year-old Chicago popcorn company's signature blend. Last year, it changed the name of its "Chicago Mix" to "Garrett Mix" after it was sued by St. Paul-based Candyland Inc.
Later in the episode, a pink tin of Garrett Popcorn, likely bought from one of its two O'Hare locations, makes an appearance.
It is unclear if the popcorn company knew it would be featured on the episode. Here's what Eric Stonestreet, the actor who plays Cam, had to say about it:
For people saying tonights Modern Family was an Apple commercial, you're wrong. It was a @GarrettPopcorn commercial. They paid $50,000,000
