CHICAGO — Expect longer lines than usual at Garrett Popcorn this week.
Through Friday, Garrett stores will offer 65-cent bags of the recently-renamed "Garrett Mix," a cheese and caramel corn combo, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The special celebrates the company's 65th anniversary week. Garrett opened its first store at 10 W. Madison St. on Sept. 18, 1949.

The company said there are more surprises in store, with representatives giving out popcorn on a trolley in the city Thursday and as-of-yet-unveiled specials for Friday.
The company was one of three sued earlier this month by St. Paul-based Candyland Inc. for using "Chicago Mix," a name Candyland said it trademarked in 1992. Garrett changed the name of its "Chicago Mix" to "Garrett Mix," stating in a press release that the rebranding was already in the works before the suit, as the company anticipated moving into new markets.
Each customer is limited to one anniversary bag per day, said a company spokeswoman, but people are welcome to stop in every day of the week.
Take heed, though: Though the bag is tinier than the "small" size sold in stores, an anniversary bag holds almost four cups of Garrett Mix, and four cups comes in at about 900 calories.
