ROGERS PARK — The Golden Mini Mart on Morse Avenue has closed after a failed city health inspection.

The convenience store, at 1339 W. Morse Ave., closed earlier this month and hasn't re-opened. The interior of the store has been mostly cleared out. Neighborhood blog Chevanston Rogers Park first reported the closure.

Longtime owner Jack Baqleh couldn't be reached for comment, but he told DNAinfo Chicago in September that he's run the mart for nearly 20 years.

On Jan. 26, the city inspected the business and found mouse droppings, according to records. The inspection report also notes a broken wall in the bathroom and a missing thermometer in a cooler holding milk. Another inspection, on Feb. 4, states the mart was "out of business."
