LITTLE VILLAGE — The Chicago Opera Theater and Lagunitas Brewing are teaming up to host a special musical event Monday.

The opera group will give a special performance at Beers & Baritones starting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Lagunitas Taproom, 1843 S. Washtenaw Ave. in Little Village.

Tickets, now on sale for $25, includes an open bar of Lagunitas beers, appetizers and a short opera performance in the taproom space.

For opera newbees, the taproom show serves as a cheap introduction for those who have never taken in a live opera concert, according to organizers. The Loop-based opera company has staged 120 operas, 60 Chicago premieres and 24 American operas in the past 40 years.

Baritone Zeffin Quinn Hollis — known for his "Opera Singer Sings Jayden Smith's Tweets" YouTube video — will be on hand with a special improv performance at the event, too.

Tickets will also be available for $35 at the door Monday.
