WEST LOOP — A nationally-known dance complex has plans to open its first Chicago location in the West Loop, real estate officials confirmed this week.

Owners of the L.A.-based Millennium Dance Complex have leased 7,790 square feet in the building at 1000 W. Washington Blvd. in the West Loop. The studio, a franchise location, is expected to open this spring.

The Chicago location, which will offer instruction in a range of dance disciplines, is now hiring, according to Millennium's Facebook page.

The Chicago franchise is operated by Nicole Spagnolo, founder of Collective Dance in Lincoln Park, according to Realtors for the property.

The original Millennium Dance Complex opened in 1992 in Los Angeles, and is known as a dance home base for pop stars like Britney Spears, Usher and Justin Timberlake.

Mid-American Real Estate Corporation represented Spagnolo and Millennium Dance on the deal; Baum Realty Group represented the landlord.

The West Loop is also home to Hubbard Street Dance at 1147 W. Jackson Blvd.
