AVONDALE — Logan Square's much-anticipated new tiki bar slash Chinese takeout spot opened Tuesday afternoon, but we snuck in a few hours early to give you a peek inside.

Lost Lake, 3154 W. Diversey Ave., will open its doors to customers at 4 p.m. Tuesday and feature 275 curated rums and more than one dozen cocktails from head bartender Paul McGee.

Drinks like the Tahitian Rum Punch, Pool Rules, the Coconut Grove Cooler and the Punch Vieux will be on deck alongside food items from connected takeout counter: Thank You, a Chinese-American concept. Food options include the Peanut Snack, a crushed cucumber salad and dryfried longbeans.

The throwback interior includes lots of bamboo and classic Martinique banana leaf wallpaper. A fishtank stocked with shells and skulls at the restaurant’s entrance also contains five live piranhas.

Lost Lake and Thank You sits on the border of Logan Square and Avondale and will be open Sunday through Monday 4 p.m.-2 a.m. and Saturday 4 p.m.-3 a.m., serving a takeout-style menu.

Lost Lake and Thank You are the latest from Land & Sea, the team behind Parson's Chicken & Fish and Longman & Eagle.
