WEST ROGERS PARK — Ken Anderson realizes it just doesn't seem right to open his new, much-anticipated frozen custard shop as Chiberia makes a comeback.

"Of course we had to wait until the coldest day [of the season] to open," Anderson said sarcastically at his new Lickity Split Custard Shop location, 7000 N. Western Ave. "At least the sun's shining, so we'll take that."

Despite the cold, the shop opens its doors noon Monday.

Anderson founded the original Lickity Split location in Edgewater, but announced plans to expand in early 2014.

For those looking for a warmer treat, Anderson will be serving espresso, hot cider and warm pastries, he said.
