RAVENSWOOD — Picture Etsy as a physical space featuring nothing but the wares of professional craftspeople and it would look something like Show of Hands.

Returning Saturday and Sunday to the Ravenswood Event Center for its second year, Show of Hands will host 60 independent artists and designers under a single roof selling everything from jewelry to ceramics to knitwear.

Founded by Emily Martin of Orange Beautiful design studio, Show of Hands aims to grow the city's crafter economy and introduce artisans work to a broader audience.

"These people make stuff all year," Martin said in advance of the show's 2013 debut. "It's kind of reminding people, this isn't just a holiday craft fair. You can support me all the time instead of buying candles at Target."

Admission to the two-day event is free. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days at the center, 4043 N. Ravenswood Ave.
