LINCOLN SQUARE — While The Northman cider bar's opening remains a moving target, chef Cleetus Friedman continues to preview the restaurant's food and beverage menu at the second in a series of pop-up dinners.

The latest sneak peek is set for 7 p.m. Monday at Fountainhead's barrel room, 1970 W. Montrose Ave.

The six-course meal will introduce diners to ciders of English and Spanish origin, paired with seasonal dishes like cider-braised short ribs served with creamy kale and a harvest vegetable and potato pie.

Tickets for the dinner are $65 and can be purchased online.

In January, it was announced that The Northman aimed to launch Chicago's first cider-centric bar at 4337 N. Lincoln Ave. Once opened, the pub plans to offer more than 100 ciders on draft, cask or in bottles.
