COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — Chicago rapper Lil Durk was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon after police found him in a home with two loaded handguns Wednesday morning in Orland Hills.

Durk Banks, 22, was denied bail during bond court Thursday after he was charged for violating probation on a previous gun charge.

Cook County Judge James Brown ordered Banks held without bail for the probation violation and is scheduled to return to court Nov. 13.

Durk's attorney Sam Adam Jr. said there were at least nine people at the residence at the time of his arrest.

"These could have been one of theirs," Adam told Brown.

Outside of the courtroom Adam said his client was distressed.

"He never had it on his person," Adam said of the guns.

During the Wednesday morning arrest, Chicago gang officers arrived to the 16100 block of West Hillcrest Circle in Orland Hills during an investigation, according to police report.

When they entered the home they found Banks in the living room and two handguns in the kitchen, the report said. Police arrested Banks on two counts of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

Police seized a .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun with a magazine and 11 live rounds and a .45-caliber handgun with a magazine and 13 live rounds, the report said.

After his arrest Banks said: "I got those pipes (guns) cause (expletives) always be tryin' to take my band (money)," according to the police report.

Outside of the courtroom, Adam said he is looking into the alleged statement.

In court, Adam said the rapper, who is signed with Def Jam Records, is scheduled to go on tour in three weeks.
