CHICAGO — As Chicago restaurants await the release of the 2015 Michelin Guide, a ranking system whose three-star designations can make or break a business, the group released a list of 59 eateries recognized for serving high-quality meals at an affordable price.
Michelin bills the "Bib Gourmand" list as a grouping of restaurants tailored to locals, who are likely to visit midpriced restaurants more often than budget-busters such as Alinea.
The 2015 roundup, released Wednesday, includes 11 newcomers, including A10 in Hyde Park, Beatrix in River North and Parachute in Avondale.
To qualify on Michelin's affordability index for this list, Bib Gourmand restaurants must offer two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less, excluding tax and tip.
