Burglars Breaking Into Near West Side Condos and Swiping Bikes, Police Say

NEAR WEST SIDE — Police issued a warning Wednesday to residents on the Near West Side of an increase in burglaries the month of October.

The offenders have forced their way into garages of condominium buildings and taken bicycles at various times of day, police said.

The most recent burglary occurred on Oct. 24, on the 0-100 block of South Laflin Street during the morning hours.

Another burglary occurred on the 1500 block of West Monroe Street between Oct. 21 and Oct. 23.

The first robbery occurred during the day in the 0-100 Block of South Laflin Street on Oct. 21.

Police warn residents to keep the perimeter of the property well lit, secure doors and windows, and report suspicious activity immediately.
