WEST LOOP — Brooklyn Boulders Chicago is seeking to team up with two local artists to create on-site murals at their West Loop rock climbing facility.

Through a contest sponsored by the Prime 8 Art League, two Chicago-based artists will be selected to create original artwork that will adorn the building's indoor rock climbing and co-working space. Winners of the contest will be commissioned to produce an on-site mural, receive a one-year membership to Brooklyn Boulders Chicago and membership to the Prime 8 Art League.

Prime 8 Art League is currently seeking submissions through its website. The contest, judged by Prime 8 Art League and Brooklyn Boulders Chicago, closes Oct. 24.

Interested artists should upload a representative sample of their work, a link to their online portfolio and contact information to the group's website. Artists must live within 10 miles of the city limits. All Chicago artists are eligible, but Chicago street artists and muralists will be given preference in the contest.

Winners will be announced Nov. 14.

Brooklyn Boulders, a 25,000-square-foot facility at 100 S. Morgan St., opened exclusively to members in September. The group hopes to open the business to the public in November.
