WEST LOOP — Lots of outdoor space, floor-to-ceiling city views and private balconies are key features at new luxury high rise Catalyst, 123 N. Desplaines St.
The West Loop's now-complete 19-story rental building features a rooftop infinity-edge pool, a fourth-floor dog run with a pet wash, a "zen" garden and outdoor space for grilling and relaxing.
The building's 223 apartments, featuring studios, one, two and three-bedroom units, are 65 percent rented, said Darlene Egan, Marquette Companies senior vice president. Catalyst celebrated the building's completion with a grand opening reception Thursday night.
Egan said that the luxury rentals include 9-foot floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies or terraces, hardwoods floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and an in-unit washer and dryer.
Besides outdoor space on the fourth floor and rooftop, the building features a club room with a demonstration kitchen, fitness center, a yoga studio, complimentary coffee bar, a meeting room and free common area Wi-Fi.
Rent at the Catalyst building starts at:
• $2,010 per month for a 600-square-foot studio
• $2,220-$2,580 for a 800-square-foot one bedroom, one bathroom unit
• $3,040 for a 1,120-square-foot two bedroom, two bathroom unit
• $4,460 for a 1,600-square-foot three bedroom, three bathroom unit
A den is also available in some apartment floor plans.
The building was designed by Chicago-based architecture firm Brininstool + Lynch and developed by The Marquette Companies.
Other new construction rental buildings in the West Loop include The Madison at Racine, which is pre-leasing now at 1164 W. Madison St.; Arkadia Tower, 765 W. Adams St., expected to open in January 2015; and JeffJack Apartments, expected to open in spring 2015 at Jefferson Street and Jackson Boulevard.
