COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A University of Illinois at Chicago student and employee was arrested after prosecutors say she turned on several emergency showers in a science lab causing about $25,000 in damages.

Jessica Rucks, 26, of the 1800 block of South Allport Street, allegedly went into the Science and Engineering South building at 845 W. Taylor Street between 4 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Sept. 23 and pulled several emergency shower handles on the first and third floors, according to a police report.

She later told a witness about a YouTube video she'd posted of a similar stunt on Sept. 16, the report states.

Police found the YouTube video, and Rucks allegedly admitted turning on the showers on Sept. 23. She was charged with criminal damage to property.

During a brief court hearing Wednesday, a Cook County judge released Rucks from custody on a personal recognizance bond.
