HYDE PARK — Gardeners at Ray Elementary School are looking for help cleaning up Amanda’s Garden on Saturday.

The garden at the corner of 56th Street and Kenwood Avenue has become overgrown with weeds, and gardeners said they need help starting at 10 a.m. cleaning it in preparation for fall.

Volunteers are encouraged to bring garden gloves if they have them.

The garden is named for former Ray student Amanda Carter, who died in 1990 at age 8.
