Divvy Coming to 40th Ward, Locations Near Parks a Top Priority

LINCOLN SQUARE — The Divvy bike share program is expanding north and west, with 10 new stations announced for the 40th Ward by the spring, according to Ald. Pat O'Connor.

Several of the stations will be placed near parks, including River Park, Winnemac Park, Gross Park and Schreiber Park. A station at Peterson and Damen avenues will be inside Target's parking lot.

The distinctive blue bikes, which can be rented via $75 annual membership or a $7 24-hour pass, will be placed at:

  • Lawrence and Washtenaw avenues (Gross Park)
  • Lincoln and Winona avenues
  • Foster and Francisco avenues (River Park)
  • Lincoln and Bryn Mawr avenues (near Budlong Woods Library)
  • Foster and Damen avenues (Winnemac Park and Amundsen High School)
  • Balmoral and Wolcott avenues
  • Clark Street and Bryn Mawr Avenue (near Pierce Elementary)
  • Peterson and Damen avenues (Target)
  • Peterson and Maplewood avenues
  • Clark Street and Schreiber Avenue (Schreiber Park)

Divvy debuted in June 2013 with 70 stations and has since grown to 300 stations and 3,000 bikes, with a stated goal of 475 stations and 4,750 bikes.
